The University of Dubuque Summer School Program upholds the overall mission of the University of Dubuque in that courses offered fulfill the liberal arts core as well as requirements in major fields of study.  Summer courses are open to students of all ages who desire to catch-up, get-ahead, or expand their horizons in the pursuit of college-level learning opportunities.

Unless otherwise specified in the accompanying schedule, summer courses are scheduled according to the following session dates:

May Term

  • Face-to-face: Tuesday, May 4 - Friday, May 21, 2021 (three weeks)
  • Online: No online classes will be starting in May Term; they will only begin in session I

Session I

  • Face-to-face: Monday, May 24 - Friday, June 18, 2021 (four weeks); no classes on May 31
  • Online courses with a 60 or 61 section number: Monday, May 24 - Friday, July 16, 2021 (eight weeks)
  • Online courses with a 62 or 64 section number: Monday, June 7 - Thursday, July 29, 2021 (eight weeks)

Session II

  • Face-to-face: Monday, June 21 - Friday, July 16, 2021 (four weeks); no classes on July 5
  • Online: No online classes will be starting in session II; they will only begin in session I

Classes normally meet for three weeks in the May Term and four weeks in session I and session II; some, however, may run for more than three or four weeks. All online classes will meet for eight weeks unless otherwise specified.
