The Theatre program at the University of Dubuque offers an in-depth study of drama as an art form and professional practice. You will leave ready to build a career in performance, playwriting, technical direction, arts administration, and more.
Making a Difference Through the Study of Theatre
Students at UD explore drama from several analytical and methodological frameworks including technical, creative, historical, cultural, and aesthetic. Students put their learning into action through the regular performance of plays, musicals, improv shows, podcasts, and other collaborative productions.

Career Opportunities
A degree in theatre can provide entry into various careers, including teaching drama in an educational setting, arts administration or management, and performance through acting, directing, scene or lighting design, and drama or expressive therapies.
Theatre Productions
The theatre program works closely with the UD Drama Club to present three or four full-mounted theatre productions each year. Student dancers perform two recitals per year, one in fall and one in spring. Productions and ensembles are open to all UD students, regardless of major. Academic credit is available for participation in performance ensembles.

Korissa serves as the operations and promotions manager to Heritage Center and Department of Fine and Performing Arts. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Wisconsin-Platteville and a master in management-communication management degree from University of Dubuque. While at UW-P, she worked for the University Box Office and Center for the Arts. Clark worked for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois before coming to University of Dubuque.

Randy Schultz supervises all technical and back-of-house operations including lighting, sound, staging, and rigging. Randy holds a degree in architecture and recently completed fourteen years as Technical Director/Facilities Manager at the Schauer Arts and Activities Center in Hartford, Wisconsin. Previously, he worked in similar capacities for organizations including UW-Whitewater Young Auditorium and the Jefferson (WI) Council for the Performing Arts.
